Within sounds or silence

Vicino alla Montagna (film)

Vicino alla Montagna is the second production in the trademarked genre Symbiophonies. It is a fictional film presenting Nature, Music and Humankind as main components.

Nature is constantly present. Music perpetually sounds from beyond the mountains. Humankind arises from earth while Music is directing the cycle of life. Nature is the impartial arena.

What happens when Humankind cannot relate to this unified energy of Nature and Music?

Remote Galaxy (album)

Can the dualism of life, nature and art be expressed in pure music? This is the question the multi-talented composer Flint Juventino Beppe – formerly known as Fred Jonny Berg – has set out to answer. The album Remote Galaxy is a journey in time and space, a journey given meaning by the album's music and philosophy. The music is uncompromisingly honest, with a genuine power of its own. Using well-known acoustic technology, the composer takes us to some unusual and, for most of us, unknown places.

Remote Galaxy continues the journey of 2L's Grammy nominated album Flute Mystery, and again the Philharmonia Orchestra is conducted by Vladimir Ashkenazy to interpret these adventurous scores. The composer's deep spiritual interest in nature, philosophy and space is as central in the universe of Remote Galaxy as it was in Flute Mystery. Beppe's music leaves a unique fingerprint in the artistic world: there is quite simply nothing like it.

- 2L´s recording - Blu-ray and accessible in 5.1 and 7.1 DTS, 2.0 LPCM and 9.1 Auro-3D - does indeed sound breathtaking. Gramophone magazine, April 2014

- Remote Galaxy is one of the finest recordings I have ever heard! Unlike a lot of so-called demonstration material, the music matches the quality of the recording. It's an incredible artistic and technical achievement, and a disc I will return to many times in the months and years to come. Audiophile Audition, December 2013

Album Tracklist & Audio Excerpts

Flute Mystery (album)

Only the full symphony orchestra can impose the true emotional dynamics of the arctic nature. Flute Mystery is a collection of five orchestral works by composer Flint Juventino Beppe. In this distinctive and dynamic surround sound recording, the Philharmonia Orchestra with Emily & Catherine Beynon as soloists on flute & harp are conducted by the legendary Vladimir Ashkenazy. SACD & Blu-ray.

Vladimir Ashkenazy: I am very fond of Scandinavian mentality, the way people express themselves and their spiritual world. It has always been a very special treat for me to conduct and play Scandinavian music and it is a particular pleasure to introduce to the world a very talented Norwegian composer Fred Jonny Berg [Flint Juventino Beppe] whose music in its own way is a genuine reflection of his world.

Beppe's music is often described as melodious, accessible and dramatic, yet with a highly original quality. Beppe himself tries to explain: It is really as simple as it is complicated - I breathe in what life has to offer, and breathe out what I have to offer life. I have given up trying to grasp what actually happens in the process from impression to expression. In his music Flint Juventino Beppe reveals himself as a person who has experienced that life consists of light and dark, but unlike the majority of us he approaches both with a similar undaunted decisiveness; it adds an extra quality to his music: the conviction of an eyewitness.
