«Through Saltdal» Op.73
In the valley Saltdal, north of the Arctic Circle, there is a wealth of spectacular, exotic nature. This solo violin piece embraces some of these features.
Instrumentation: Solo Violin
Composer: Flint Juventino Beppe
First performed: February 18, 2008
Through storms that strike and rivers that hit, but in all likelihood with no harmful intentions. - I only happened to be there.
Through air that tastes like the most perfect meal and soil that soothes my sore feet. - I am amazed that I got to be there.
Through mountains that greet me with wide-open power. - I am the inferior who went the trails in the grand master´s land.
Through magical patterns of snow and starry nights that penetrate tearful eyes. - It seems like I have been visiting a valley superior to a self-effacing human mind.
Dedicated to the violinist Elisabeth Turmo.
